I decided to reach outside of my comfort zone and give myself a writing prompt to develop a short story. I searched for some pre-made book covers and decided to purchase a low price option and write my story based on the cover. I ended up finding the perfect cover by Ram Art, and the story just flowed!

It’s a short story reflecting on a dramatic metaphor of life. I like to think there’s just a touch of humor in the suspense, and by the end of the story, the moral is clear.
It’s not about who wins or loses, but how well you play the game
I really enjoyed writing this, and am so happy with the outcome, I think I’ll be giving some more thought to short stories while I finish up the Statera Saga. It’s a perfect distraction when I need to clear my head from the trilogy, but it doesn’t take up too much of my time or energy from my main focus.
A perfect balance, and you know I’m a fan of that!
