I’ve just realized I haven’t written in two months. These first few months of 2019 have been wonderful and hectic. I have to admit my writing has taken the back burner, and I’ve been losing myself in reading and immensely enjoying a few choice books. I don’t consider this a waste of my writing time, but as way to help develop my skills. I really feel like my next book will have a better recipe, thrown together by more practiced hands that have been working to develop my voice and version of a perfected craft (if that’s ever possible). Basically, the last few weeks, a few chapters have flown onto the pages for my new book, and I feel pretty darn good about them. I feel more experienced, more fine-tuned… if not more delusional 🙂
On a much more exciting note, I was contacted by a teacher from a middle school near my hometown to talk to her 8th grade class about writing. There are a lot of days where I question whether or not putting my stories out for the world to read was worth it… but when I get messages like that, I get a pleasantly surprising affirmation.
AND It looks like Spring is finally here! And just in time too… I’ve been pretty desperate for warmer weather and writing on my porch lounger. Longer days means more time to write, so I guess it’s time to crawl out of the wormhole and get back to work!
May the sun shine, all day long,
everything go right, and nothing wrong.
May those you love bring love back to you,
and may all the wishes you wish come true!
Happy Spring!

Happy Spring! I definitely think reading is well worth the time and writing and reading and inspiration go in cycles. Good luck with your next book!
